the plans were "not about criminalising art or pornographic cartoons more generally, but about targeting obscene, and often very realistic, images of child sexual abuse which have no place in our society".
From my understanding they don't plan on stopping shota or loli, but trying to decrease or eliminate art and renders which look close to real life.
But in all honesty, this is why I stay out of this area. While I agree that shota/loli =/= CP the fact remains there may come a day you can get into trouble for having it and I certainly don't want to be in that boat if it happens.
That meant it wasn't targeting all pornographic art, just that with children; the bit about realism is between commas and is therefore just an aside. All shota and loli would be included from what I can tell.
XD As a person who likes shota/loli, it sounds like they're trying to tackle photomanipulations and depictions of actual children, rather than the generic child, fictional child... Then again, who knows? DD: If they just tackle all shota, it's freaking nuts.
UWAAA! *clings to her XehanortxIenzo community* That's not fairrrr. Not all shota/loli is child abuse. ;_; I have a whole folder of shota so fluffy it would make people's teeth rot. Very consensual, very cutesy.
No, it's downright dangerous. It starts with one thing, then it snowballs. People will inevitably tire of the oppression and strike back. ...Okay, I'll stop acting like Zexion now, before I lecture you to sleep. xD
Yeah, I hope it doesn't. I loves my shota fluff. ;_; Of course, I live in America, but there are people in Britain who like shota just as much and more than I do, and even if it doesn't affect me, it ticks me off just the same. x.x; Plus, it /could/ affect me if America decides to copy Britain (like we always do, because we can't think for ourselves. >.>;)
Never liked shota to begin with but..... This is where we get into murky waters. What do they deem to be a child and what isn't. Personally, 16 and over is fair game to me, but others don't think so. Reminds me of when DA slapped on the age rule. "No, you can't even say the character is 18 or whatever." XD That rule is pretty much dead, but still.

Hopefully it won't make it through anyway - it's not even a bill yet, let alone a law.
