Finished college now!
All I need to do is go in Wednesday for the CCNA voucher exam (to try and get a discount on the final), then book in for the final certification though at the Sunderland exam centre some time in the next few months. :D
Despite being bored out of my skull for the last year's worth (the main thing I was interested in was only for the first year - this year it was all Networking, SQL and Systems Analysis :( ) I'm going to miss it quite a bit - for all my complaining I was sort of enjoying it there (not just the lunch breaks at the pub either ^^; ) - most of my class were OK, and I liked most of my tutors, despite past bitching that may have inferred otherwise...
Now to find something else to do... :/

So glad I stayed off college today (not that I usually go in Thursdays anyway - seeing as I already know SQL Ken said I needn't bother coming in except for tests & stuff) - not 1 but 2 parcels arrived :)
Been playing Re: Chain of Memories - really liking it (CoM is my favourite Kingdom Hearts game, and playing it in 3D and with decent controls is just <3 ). Really noticing the difference in quality between PAL and NTSC though - guess I've been spoiled that way by growing up in the UK. Still, blurry or not I'm pretty damn chuffed :D
Anyway, I'm going to make a cup of coffee now and have a nap (I've given up on a sane sleeping pattern all together now - what's the point in forcing myself into something with no real benefit?)

Oct. 31st, 2007 01:18 pmOK, it happened again - got to about 1am and everything became slow, but appeared to be fine this morning. It's like they're telling me to get to bed at a decent time or something D:
I put in a support request with Tiscali, but I'm not really expecting much to come of it - I'll probably just get something akin to "Is your computer plugged in?" 9_9
Having said that, I should really be grateful I have an internet connection at all, seeing as BT decided to disconnect my phone on the day I paid the bill, and now are asking for £125 just to reconnect it. *stupid near-monopoly of the British phone network* D:<
Oh, and for some reason the college lets me onto y!Gallery - pretty strange, seeing as I can't even get onto forums here. Nice, although I'm a bit wary of going there in case the tutor decides to look at what I'm doing and sees a screenful of gay sex... XD

Sep. 19th, 2007 10:41 pmThe first day back went pretty well, apart from me not knowing the timetable and showing up 2 hours early. Turns out instead of 2 full days like last year, I get 3 days and a lie in - should be handy since I was always sleeping in last year ^^;; Only half the class is still there now - just the 5 of us left now D:
Oh, and everyone noticed I'd lost weight over the summer, which was nice :)

I kinda didn't get the database in on time (I was sure the deadline was 1pm today, but it was actually yesterday >_< ) - I kind of got stuck trying to do some stuff with dates, which ended up holding everything up and I didn't finish. Oh well, I guess this means I'll be repeating the module (although I think I have enough credits for the year as it is and won't need to).

Sep. 3rd, 2007 12:26 pmJust got an email from my tutor asking for my assignments (which I totally forgot about, partly cos of the whole "thinking of dropping out" thing).
Since I don't have access to a Windows-based computer he said it's OK for me to do the database assignment in any form I like, so long as it can be demonstrated to him in one way or another. Nice, since I a) don't have Access, b) hate the bloody thing and c) would rather be using PHP+MySQL anyway (since I'm more interested in web app development than writing business software). Only trouble is I've got to get an entire application written, debugged and handed in by Thursday D:
