saviourseph Five years to the day after Jean Charles de Menezes was murdered in Stockwell tube station, the CPS have ruled on the killing of Ian Tomlinson at the G20 protests. No charges will be brought against the pigs who murdered him. Even though there is video footage of what happened. Even though a second post-mortem clearly showed through the police's bullshit and spin.

Date: 2010-07-22 04:30 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, individual charges against the officer were, at best, a minor concession, and at worst, just a bit of window dressing. Without a significant look at the behaviour of police during protests, there will be many more Ian Tomlinsons, and even more almost-Tomlinsons.
Gotta love the balls of the CPS and the IPCC - neither brought charges against their high-profile cases.
