Several, but I'll go with The Shining as it's one of the few that isn't "HATEHATEHATE". While it's a terrible adaptation and about as faithful to the book as if it had been the My Little Pony Movie, I do think it manages to stand on its own merits - I love both.

Comparing the eyegouging adaptation of the doorstop IT to, say, 1408 or Carrie (short story and novella respectively), this is very true.
