savioursephI know there's a few people into steampunk on my flist, and figured this was important enough to copypasta & help spread around:

Professor Calamity, founder of Steampunk Magazine, has been arrested and is being held on felony charges for tweeting police movements at the G20 protests.
The police are raiding his house, confiscating just about anything they can get their hands on- "Curious George plush toys[wtf? -Paul], artwork, correspondence with political prisoner Daniel McGowan, birth certificates, passports, the entire video archive of a local media collective, tax records, books, computers, storage devices, cell phones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVDs[again... the hell? -Paul], flags, banners, posters, photographs and more than can be recounted here."
His lawyer has convinced a judge to put a stop to these raids, however, god only knows if the police are even listening.
So for the love of god, let your 'punk friends know about this. Let's get this into the news.
