Phone line got connected Thursday, so shouldn't be that long before I'm back... just need to sign up for internet now and wait for that. :)
Mini KH fic based on a prompt from a long-lapsed Fanfic 100 claim
He looked at the swirling mass growing next to the bench, not quite sure what had gone wrong with his latest creation. According to the fastidiously-kept notes on his team’s past experiments it should have been a Darkball; one of the first synthetic Heartless they ever perfected (and if the first accidental dozen or so were anything to go by, probably the greatest threat to mugs of coffee and frayed tempers after Elaeus’s clumsy self). Instead the purplish-black cloud failed to solidify into the familiar toothy sphere and just remained, blind, chaotic and near-formless, apart from its occasional forming of a tendril with which to grab and munch on the nearest test tube or burette.
What did he forget? Mythril, perhaps? How could it stay solid without something to give it form in the first place, after all. The nagging feeling that he’d done everything completely to the recipe remained, however. Could it be that hearts were too unpredictable, too volatile to give the ordered, prescriptive results science required to function?
Nah... probably just not enough mythril in the mixture. He didn’t test that last batch for purity after all; it could have been tin marked up by an unscrupulous dealer for all he knew. Shrugging to himself, Even picked up a broom and wafted the strange new Heartless towards the cryostasis pod; he could always figure out the mystery in the morning.
Also... KH-playing peoples on my flist: any tips on how to win against Data Copy!Axel in KH2FM+? Went back to my old file to get 100% completion this week and he's the main thing stopping me (also Mushroom #10, but I'll get there eventually). Ty <3
