More 5-minute AIM drabbles from the usual guys :)

Mermaid - Morpha/Ruto (OoT)
Although her fiancé was coming, Ruto thought she could handle whatever was behind the large blue door. She made her way up the steep, spike-trap covered slope and into the room, locking the door behind her - that should buy some time - the last thing she needed was him bursting in and distracting her at a critical moment. She could probably even have it over and done with before he managed to get up here - giving him a much pleasanter surprise when he flung open the door.

Ruto peered down into the pool at the strangely blue water - no sign of the creature, whatever it was. Perhaps it wasn't in here? Just then, she felt something snaking it's way around her ankle, and gave a yelp of surprise as she was hoisted high into the air, arms waving frantically. Another of the blue-tinted pseudopodia rose from the water, this one with a strange, pinkish ball halfway down it's length. It grabbed her around her middle and pulled, dragging her down into the cerulean mass below.

Link entered the chamber, ankles slightly shredded from the traps on the way up. No sign of life; just the strange, too-blue water.

Vox - Goron Elder & Random Goron (MM)
"Waaaaaahhhh! Darmi!"

"Please be quiet! He'll be back soon, don't worry!"

"Well he'd better get back soon - I swear that kid is going to collapse the whole damn place if he carries on"

"You don't think anything's... happened to him, do you?"

"Don't be stupid - he's a great goron hero - a little bit of snow isn't going to hurt him"

"I guess so - I'm still worried, though"

"You worry too much"

"Probably... I just have this feeling something's happened"

"For real?"

"Yeah. Do you think I should go out looking for him?"

"What, and get yourself hurt too? You're too old to wander around in this weather! Besides - what about the kid? He's bad enough without Darmani here - imagine the racket he'd kick up if you were gone too!"

"I need to - I couldn't just sit here worrying. You can handle the kid for now, right?"

"I guess..."

Pizza - Link (OoT)
He'd missed out on it all - the moment he pulled the seemingly innocent sword out of the equally innocuous stone, Link unwittingly gave away what chance remained of him having a normal life. He remembered nothing of it either - he pulled the sword, and next thing he knew he was a foot taller and staring at some strange, orange-clad old man who was spewing out meaningless gobbledegook.

He reached to his face - was it even his any more? He didn't recognise it. His cheeks were gaunt but smooth; at least that was something; he wouldn't have to endure a pubescent pizza-face - wouldn't have to endure puberty at all for that matter. It had already passed.

But still he felt cheated - what gave them the right to put his life on fast-forward? Destiny? Fate? They could have at least warned him.

Stupid - Zexion/Lexaeus (KH:CoM)
Appearances could be deceptive - Zexion knew that; he just wished everyone else did. It was deplorable, really, the way people judged Number 5. Lexaeus was the sweetest man he had ever known - a bit on the quiet side, maybe, but certainly not the lunk-head everyone took him for. How could he have risen so quickly through the ranks of their little group otherwise? Of course he had his foolish moments - who didn't? He knew that the three of them agreeing to work under the neophyte was one of the stupidest of all. But then they couldn't really disagree, could they? Direct order from the superior and all - saying no would have been far stupider still.

But Vexen knew, and most importantly he himself knew. And as he felt the chestnut-haired giant's talented lips wrap themselves confidently around his shaft, Zexion smiled to himself.

No. Not stupid at all.

Nightfall - Running Man (OoT)
He didn't like being out here when the night came. That was when they appeared; those hideous, dog-headed wights that erupted from the ground like so many parasites from the skin of an innocent victim, gibbering like loons and flailing their arms wildly with no other thought but to harm. He tried to outrun them; it was no easy task - no sooner had he got away from one group another burst out right in front of him. Nothing could stop them either - in an adrenaline-fuelled moment of bravery he had punched one of them once. A good hard blow too - he knocked it's skull clean off it's neck. But still it charged after him, unfazed and mindless, while it's dead eyes glared up at him hatefully from the scorched grass.

At least the paths were safe. So there he stayed, every single night, hunched up protectively on the dirt road surrounding the ranch, hoping to one day have the means to outrun the red-eyed earthspawn for good.
