a) Because you make great comments on ONTD_P, and (although I can't remember whether I friended you or Stu first) it seemed like a good idea to friend the pair of you.

Also haha, I don't have any special fondness for ochre but at the same time, it's just about one of the only colors in that part of the spectrum that I do like. I love places where the soil itself is ochre.

Re: the screen name, it's actually a Finnish word, because I'm a linguistics geek and Finnish is one of my favorite languages; it means silver birch, as in the species.
