FFXIII First Impressions

Yes, I bought it today, despite gunnhildr 's warnings of crappiness (if it helps, it was an eeny-meeny-miney-mo between that and God of War 3). Not very far into it yet (I just got control of the wimpy-looking androgynous boy-teen who I'm assuming will be the main character), but here's my thoughts so far.

What I'm liking:

Pretty, pretty Snow.
Cute little chicobo. :3
Bouncing, hard-to-miss treasure chests.
Was that Shiva in the opening movie? If so nice redesign.

What I'm not liking:

So noisy! Had to turn the subtitles on so I could catch the dialogue.
Seems a bit easy (although it could just be breaking me in softly).
The music so far. Why so bland? :(
That kid who looks like Naruto. /irrational

I like all of the things in your "like" column. Especially the pretty, pretty Snow.

As for not liking: walking in a straight line while pressing A repeatedly to the tune of elevator music. Also whilst trying to cope with the banal whining of emo douchebags.
