I suppose they considered Puerto Rico a country because it's only a U.S. territory and not a full-fledged state? Neither England or Scotland counted as countries though - only as the UK. :X
I was under the impression that the UK is England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, and all the little islands in between; that Britain is the UK less Ireland (i.e., just the one island); that England is ... England. I mean, England's its own sovereign state; if it's not a country, then what is it?
Basically, yeah: UK = Great Britain & most of Ulster; Great Britain = the big island; England = the bit that isn't Scotland or Wales (or debatably, Cornwall).
if it's not a country, then what is it?
Nowadays, it's not much more than a ceremonial subdivision of Great Britain - kind of like New England or The South over there.
