Hmm, the only thing I'll agree slightly with one of the posters there is that I do sometimes feel like these movements remove some of the individual tragedy in them. I get what the one poster is saying when about people becoming "talking points," though the the conclusion he draws from it is ridiculously fail-worthy. No, the world isn't going to change overnight because of an Internet memorial post, but it sure as hell isn't going to change if you stay quiet, either.

This is true, yeah.

The focus was meant to be on the comment thread though, where some guy decided to make what redstar said all about him and ~corrected~ her (then got satisfyingly dogpiled - not something that happens every day when it's queer issues being discussed). I didn't want to touch the actual post being snarked with someone else's - unbelievable amounts of fail there. D:

It was sort of a nice change to see a dogpile go the other way, I agree. :)
