Stuff

 I now have Birth by Sleep. I needn't have worried about leaving the house this afternoon as it turned out - the package was small enough to fit through the letterbox. Only just started, as I only got home around 11 (decided to do Terra's story first, partly because he was the first on the list and partly because I want to see if he has the awesome attacks he did in KH2:FM+), but initial impressions are good - here's hoping it stays that way (and explains some of the loose ends the series plot has produced along the way - that's what prequels are for, right?).

Also, I met Charlotte at the hospital when I went for part 3 of my Hep B vaccination - she was there for her knee not long after so I hung around and waited for her. Apparently she's missing a ligament in her leg - the doctors have known for ages but only just got around to telling her. WTF? Also, she came out to me as bi - I'm so proud. :') Although I don't know how our mam will take it if she decides to tell her - according to her bisexuals are "just trying to have their cake and eat it" and should "make their mind up and pick one". GDI mother. -_-;;

I am very fond of eating cake that I have. Also, I agree that bisexuals, or any person who is sexual or romantic should pick one. Or two. Or three or more. At their leisure, if they desire sex or a relationship, involving whatever behaviour between informed, consenting adults satisfies them. 8D

:D

I honestly don't understand my mother sometimes - when I came out to her at 14 she was fine with it, and she's mostly good with that kind of thing (although she does tend to fall into the trap of seeing gay men as eunuchs there for straight women's entertainment), but then she comes out with something like that and I'm just sitting there like O_o;;, too stunned at what's coming out of her mouth to argue. I just hope that if Charlotte comes out to her she reassesses her viewpoint.

She seems like the type who would; y'know, the whole "I'll have a silly and marginalizing viewpoint but knowing someone who defies that viewpoint might make me more sensitive to the issue" thing. I mean, sometimes that's the best you can ask.

Oh god, this. I have a friend with whom I went clothes shopping on a school trip, and she was like ISN'T THIS REALLY NICE FABRIC? "Yeah, it's really comfy material." NO, LIKE, THE FABRIC. IT'S REALLY HIGH-QUALITY, RIGHT? "Er, I dunno..." YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS KIND OF THING! "Why?" ER UM WELL

I like when people get that "hit over the head" moment there.

Oh God, I feel your sister(?!). :( My one (heterosexual) coworker tells me I'm being "greedy" for being bisexual. The other one (lesbian) thinks that bisexual is apparently analogous to "deceptive" and "adulterous."

BUT I'M GLAD SHE HAD THE COURAGE TO COME OUT TO YOU.

She's my little sister, yeah. :)

It must be awful for bi people, getting flack from both sides like that. Hope it's not getting to you. D:

I am what I am. I've come to realize that if you let other people define who you are, you aren't anything at all. :)

And honestly, while it gets irritating to be constantly discredited by other people, I wouldn't compare what I've experienced as a fairly open bisexual to some of the stuff I've seen thrown at my openly homosexual friends. It sucks, but...it's just no comparable.

Damn straight I can have my cake and eat it too. ;)

And I have made up my mind; like [livejournal.com profile] pirate_faafy said I can pick one...or two...or three.... ;)

ETA: My one friend who is a lesbian told my mentor/boss (Adale) that bisexuals were "holding back the movement".
OIC.
