And this is from someone I get along with...

And since you mentioned oppression, when was the last time a homosexual friend of yours was killed for his orientation? I understand the oppression the gay community faces, I truly do, but to compare it to people like Martin Burnham who literally was shot down when all he was trying to do was benefit those who were oppressing him... That's an entirely different level of oppression.

It could just be that I know more christians than I know homosexuals, but I've never gotten an email informing me that a homosexual was killed for his beliefs and yet I get all too many saying the same for christian martyrs. Comparing political and/or social oppression to martyrdom isn't exactly fair, now is it?
Yeah, I've had enough. Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] _lysia_ , but I can't stay around there when it's getting me so worked up. I'm sure the other mods will pick up the slack in my absence.

Bye, LP. It's been real.

What? Who are are all these Christians being murdered for being Christian in America. I mean I always hear Christians screaming about how they are oppressed for their beliefs but I don't know any who have actually been killed for them. I'm a Christian and I've always felt pretty comfortable saying that cause I'm pretty sure even if I were attacked by it some Christian police officer would be on the scene to handle the case, and the prosecuting and defending lawyers in my assailants case would probably be Christians, and the judge would probably be Christian, and everyone on the jury would probably be Christian.

I have however been kicked out of 2 organizations, almost failed from a class, suspended, threatened with expulsion (as in I had to go to a hearing about it), and beaten up several times because of my sexual orientation. SO...I don't know what the fuck these Christians are talking about.
