Ughhhh

Dear person on Twitter who I'm not even sure who you are but we're following each other for some reason: I don't care about the "intention" behind it. "Gay" meaning "rubbish" grew out of homophobia, and its use is offensive. And don't fall back on "MY GAY FRIENDS USE IT TOOOO" because I don't care.

(Posting here because I've decided to walk away from the conversation as a hopeless one. I stayed calm, but I won't be able to keep it that way and don't want a fight)

lol usually if I hear somebody saying "that's gay" and I don't think I'll win points on the "hey dick that's homophobic front" i'll whip out the "cool bro, how's middle school going? gonna go watch some dragon ball z? how's learnin algebra going? gettin any more awkward boners in class when that dorky girl looks at you?" cause THERE'S WAY BETTER INSULTS ANYWAYS.

ewww. The "My gay friends..." argument really pisses me off.

My icon (Simon Amstell quotation) really hits home how you shouldn't use "gay" like that. And a friend of a friend even stopped using it because of that episode of NMTB.

Humour for the win!
