Well, I saw the doctor. He's considering putting me on lithium (couldn't do it there and then because it needs to be started in hospital - bigger undertaking than valproate or carbamazepine). Fun.

Also Will dropped by to check up on mefor a surprise visit last night. Fun (not sarcastic this time though). :)

Lithium sounds v. intense. But at the same time, I'm pretty sure I know at least one person who uses it and she actually does very well. Her problem is OCD, but I could always check with her to confirm that she's still on it and see what her experiences are like, if you'd be encouraged by any positive testimonials. To me it seems like a risky substance because for some people it works ridiculously well and for others it's useless. :\

I'm kind of scared by the idea of it TBH. Not the regular blood tests so much (needles aren't so bad); more the risk of poisoning if I let myself get dehydrated: whether through lack of money or extreme of mood I go through periods of barely eating or drinking, and I consume a lot of caffeine, which dehydrates. Also apparently it has a high chance of fucking up your thyroid, which doesn't sound fun.
